What is post call automation?

Post call automation is software that completes the follow-up work after a sales call automatically — writing the summary, updating the CRM, drafting the follow-up email and creating tasks — without the rep doing it manually.

How it works

A trigger fires when a call ends. The system reads the recording or transcript, extracts what was decided and what happens next, then writes that into the systems where the work lives: an opportunity update in the CRM, a drafted reply in the inbox, tasks with owners and dates, and often a digest into a team channel. Better implementations hold outbound messages for human approval rather than sending them directly.

An example

A rep finishes a 40-minute discovery call at 3pm. By 3:02 the opportunity in Salesforce has updated notes and a next step, a follow-up email citing the three requirements the buyer named is waiting in drafts, two tasks exist with due dates, and the deal channel in Slack has a four-line summary.

Frequently asked questions

What is post call automation?

Post call automation is software that completes the follow-up work after a sales call automatically — summary, CRM update, follow-up draft and tasks — so the rep doesn't have to do it manually.

Does post call automation require a meeting bot?

Not necessarily. Some tools join the call as a visible participant to record it; others work from an existing recording, the calendar entry and the email thread. The second approach avoids putting a recorder in front of the buyer.
